The first phase of construction is ten-stories and 305,000 square feet. A second phase will potentially add nine more stories.
As a critical function to the support of the tremendous research that occurs within Penn Medicine, an Investigational Drug Study (IDS) Pharmacy will be housed to provide investigational drugs to and through the Penn Medicine Health System. The building will also house a Freezer Farm to promote collaboration among researchers for their samples as well as their data use in large clinical studies that move modern medicine forward.
Due to the tight setting, and the logistical constraints of working within the boundaries of three busy streets in University City, the project took months of pre-construction planning, modeling, prefabrication, and site phasing prior to the start of construction.
